Is anyone else experiencing issues where iMessage will stop working?

Is anyone else experiencing issues where iMessage will stop working? There have been multiple times where I press send and my phone will say iMessage needs to be activated. I've tried activating iMessage but it says it cannot connect to server. Thats a first. I've contacted Apple about because I thought it was my iPhone acting up but results from a twitter search show its an Apple issue. I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing what I'm experiencing.
