Check out software from Cucusoft, it works flawlessly. It's not free, but it's worth the money.

This is true I have been using it for the past 4 years and I will not use anything else to convert my movies except cucusoft

I absolutely agree.
Normally, I prefer paid software because free alternatives are usually inferior, but in this case, I really prefer Handbrake, it works excellent.
