In iOS 6 we was told for free apps and updates we wouldn't need to type our password in. Since iOS 6 has came out I've always had to type my password in, it's really annoying. Now on my aunts phone running iOS 6 to get a free app or update her apps she doesn't have to put in her password. We both have iPhone 5's, something is wrong. Is there some setting I'm missing, or something I didn't enable when I first set up iOS 6? Please help

I have an iPhone 5 and I still have to enter my password to download any apps that I am downloading for the first time whether paid for free, however, I do not have to enter a password to update any apps that I already have.

Check restrictions for the require password option.

You will still need your password for any app you haven't gotten before, free or not. But previously installed and updates won't require a password.
