IPod touch update and if my apps will update automatic

Hi, i am about to update my iPod touch to the newest version. I got an app that I don’t want to be updated so here’s my questions. Will the app update by it self, and can I use the same non updated app after the iPod touch update without updating the app

Welcome to iMore! I don't know about iPods. But on iPhone, an OS update does not update the apps. I'm guessing it's the same on iPods. I would be sure to have a back up in iCloud. Should you lose the app in the update, and have to download it from your purchased list, then it would be updated. But that likely won't happen. I never lost anything in an iPhone update.

If there is a new iPod Touch, it almost certainly will run the latest IOS. This version allows you to set automatic updating of apps in the Settings.
