I’m not sure how I missed this, but you can now use the shortcuts app on iOS 14 and watchOS 7 to create time and event based shortcuts that can do things like change the watch face. So, for example, I always do a workout sometime in the morning, and wake between about 6 and 7, so I have a shortcut that runs every morning at 6 am to change my watch face to Infograph, which has complications for activity, workout, and my podcast app Overcast - all things I can launch from the watch face as I start my workout - and then another that switches my watch face to my preferred Meridian watch face every time a workout ends.

This is amazing!

Yes, personal automation is a life saver.
Makes it so much easier to do stuff automatically without having to worry about forgetting stuff.

These are mine.
1st is that every night my 3 alarms is set for the morning. 5:20, 5:25 and 5:30 am. In case I miss one, the others will definitely wake me.

2nd is when I enable Bedtime mode, my 5.1 surround set computer speakers are powered off, my bedroom led strips are turned off, my TV is paused in case I forgot to turn it off and that my Smart Thermostat is lowered a few degrees as I don’t need it heating when I’m asleep.

3rd and 4th turns on AoD when workout starts and off when workout ends. I don’t have AoD enabled at all times.

Hopefully this will inspire someone to do more with personal automations.

That would drive me crazy, I am not a Robot.

Well, having to remember to set the alarm every night before going to bed makes me anxious.
Now I don’t have to worry about that.
And yes, I don’t use the repeat alarm feature because I hate seeing that clock icon on the status bar.
So, using this automation has made my life a little more easier.

@Tartarus, does your automation at 00:01 work without needing you to unlock the phone?

I set some time-based automations and they won't run unless I unlock my phone first.

All my automations in that screen work without my input.
There is a toggle, ask before running, which I have disabled.

I am less excited about this because none of my automations actually work reliably; maybe one time in ten they run. I've deleted them all and maybe will try again with 14.3.

I’ve set up some Personal Automations as well........

I hate when Apple maps is opened that Apple have insisted it opens in Dark Mode, so I have an Automation to toggle it to Light Mode.

I’ve also set up 3 Automations for when I’m charging, the first announces that “you’re iPhone is charging”, the second announces “you’re iPhone is 90% charged”, and then third announces “you’re charger is disconnected”.

And they all work for my iPad as well, with appropriate changes to the announcements.

I have automation too but I have a problem. When I plug in it'll give me the charging and unplugging animation. But when I unplug it doesn't give me the unplug animation. What am I doing wrong? I've checked all settings and u can't seem to get it fixed b

I don’t have the screen animation banner showing when it runs, as I just want the announcement, so I don’t show it before running.
I just make sure the ‘Ask before running’ isn’t selected.
This is the setting I use....

Just an update: the automation that I have set to run at sunrise every morning works 100% of the time. The one that I did set to run when any workout was complete works maybe 1/3 of the time. That is better than before 14.3.
