Hi all -- I'd like to call your attention to a new Free Apple iPhone application called MotionX?-GPS Lite. This application embeds the functionality of an advanced handheld GPS unit into a simple and intuitive iPhone application. It allows users to track outdoor activities such as hiking, running, biking, or driving using the GPS sensor built-into the iPhone 3G. And, best of all it is free via the Apple App Store.

MotionX?-GPS Lite
Fullpower?s? MotionX-GPS Lite is an advanced navigation application for the Apple iPhone that is easy to use. The most accurate and reliable GPS solution for the iPhone, MotionX-GPS Lite is available for free through the Apple App Store.
MotionX-GPS Lite uses the Fullpower MotionX sensing platform to "normalize" raw GPS samples to provide more accurate, reliable information to the user. The application contains five components:
?Stopwatch ? track elapsed time, speed, distance traveled, and average pace.
? Navigation ? provides the user?s current heading and the waypoint bearing; view current speed and ETA, and visualize bearings with a virtual compass. This also is an ideal tool for geocaching enthusiasts.
?Maps ? visualize in real time the path you travel on a scalable grid with latitude and longitude coordinates and waypoints. When navigating to a waypoint, a dashed line indicates the most direct route, and an auto-scale feature allows you to quickly find your location with respect to your destination.
? Waypoints ? personal list of waypoints such as biking and hiking trails, favorite places, geocaching sites or other points of interest.
? GPS Status ? view the current position, GPS signal strength, and last valid satellite fix.
