My iPhone 5 C is not receiving calls, what could the problem be?

My iPhone 5 C is not receiving calls. .

I am unable to receive incoming calls. My prepaid credit is current. When a call is made to my phone it does not ring and the caller is diverted to my message.

Check the usual suspects:
1. Mute switch
2. Volume buttons
3. Do Not Disturb option
4. Bluetooth connectivity
5. Alert settings
