How do i transfer my ipod device music to the library music?

On my iPod device music, I have 4,477 songs, but in the library music, I have only 675 songs. How do I move the 4477 songs to my library?

I don't know. Can you not sync the music to your computer via iTunes and then transfer that music to your 'library'?
