Camera roll v iCloud photo library?

What is the difference between the 2? I have iCloud photo library (beta) toggled on.

Thanks.....My camera roll says 331 and photostream has nothing? Is there a reason for that?

I don't really know if there is. Mine is ok. I guess it needs time for them to appear again.

From my understanding:
Turning on iCloud Photo Library (Beta) keeps the photos on iCloud. You won't see Camera Roll but instead it will say All Photo's.
If you do not turn on IPL then you will see Camera Roll and similar function and sync capabilities with iTunes as previous systems.

Photo Stream is not storage. It streams your photos from one device to another. The photos in My Photo Stream delete after 30 days.
