Rogue apps?

I find alot of the time trying to view things on facebook-such as a slide show of something or a news story, random stuff, sometimes it will want to open a page outside facebook. More than likely spam and crap I don't want. Is this maybe the reason why my battery seems to drain faster on some days more than others. Could something have snuck into my phone and messing with it? Any way to check my phone to see what's going on. I'd like to avoid restoring it because I do not want to lose anything. Not exactly sure how restoring it works anyways.

That happens in the Facebook built in browser. I see it some as well. Probably designed to do that.
