Forgot Ipad passcode and device is offline

Please help - I forgot my Ipad pin so have tried to restore in recovery mode, but itunes says it can't do it until I go online. Find My Iphone says the same thing. I can't go online because I don't know my passcode. Going in circles. Is there a way??

there is no way- Its a security feature built in to prevent theft

Don't set up a password if you can't remember it. It's now treating you as if you stole the device.
