I cannot make a phone calls w/o the loud speaker being on.

I have purchased iphone 4s but find i can not accept or make calls without the the loud speaker switched on can someone assist me to find a solution please.

Did you buy the phone used or brand new? If brand new, take it back and exchange it. If you bought it used then you may have to have it repaired. Have you tried restoring your device?
