Will Apple Music subscription payments be automatically deducted from my Apple ID balance?

I was a Beats subscriber and when I switched to Apple Music my Beats prepaid balance transferred to Apple and it now shows up in my Apple ID balance. When the free trial is over and Apple starts charging for the service, will the monthly payments be automatically deducted from my Apple ID balance first, before being charged to my credit card? I'm guessing that's the case, but wanted to see if anyone knows for sure. Thanks.

I'm subscribed to Music and don't have a credit card on file. As with all subscriptions, Apple will indeed deduct your balance first.

Thanks! That's good to know. Staples.com is selling iTunes gift cards today and tomorrow for 20% off. So a $100 card costs $80. Thinking about getting one to add to my Apple ID balance to use toward Apple Music. In essence, it's like getting two months free.

I do that all the time. I stock up on cards usually between Black Friday and holidays.
