Why does my ringer go mute after I have plugged in charger?

why does my ringer go mute after i have plugged in charger?

I have a iphone 5 and recently when I plug my charger in the phone starts to vibrate and the ringer goes mute so I have to unmute by going to accessibility the assistive touch and the unmute,but that only works for anything from ten minutes to a couple of hours the the phone will vibrate randomly and it will mute again,have tried factory reset with no joy.

I honesty do not know, and I've never experienced anything like that. You might want to make a genius bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them diagnose the problem for you.
