When I try to play youtube videos on myiPad mini it goes back to main screen. Why does this happen?

youtube opens up as normal, but when I click on video it appears to play as normal but the closes and returns to main screen. Help!!!!!

Could you elaborate. Are you using Safari or a different app for playing the videos?
