Voice Notes

I have been having issues with voice notes on iOS 10. Whenever I receive a voice note in WhatsApp or Telegram and I raise the phone to my ear to listen, the screen goes black and the voice note stops.

I was able to do this previously but not able to do it of late. Any reasons why this would change?

I'm using a iPhone 7 on iOS beta 5

No idea. I'll poke around, see what I can find on that. In the mean time, have you tried using earphones for that?
It sounds like an issue with the proximity sensor. It thinks you're making a phone call. Try Reset All Settings.
Reset All Settings
Go to Settings >General >Reset >Reset All Settings. This resets to default everything in Settings, including notifications, alerts, brightness, and clock settings like wake up alarms.
And remember, you're on beta. Could be a beta issue.

Thanks for the help. Tried it and it still doesn't work. Updated to the beta released to and still have the issue.

Found a solution. I played a voice message through my headphones and plugged it out mid playing and it now plays when I raise it to my ear.
