new dock to be a universal micro dock????

So, I was just watching the NBC Today show. They had an iphone "Expert" on the show talking about the changes. He claimed that the new iphone will have a universal micro USB dock. They are doing this because the European Union is forcing all cell phone companies to switch to a universal dock for ease of use with charging, etc.

any chance this is happening? your thoughts?

I have this crazy idea that this information might be revealed in just a few short hours...just a theory really, but at around 1pm (EST) today, you just might have your answer.

Where do these things come from? No, it won't be a standard micro-USB connector. Write it down. In ink.

Not according to all the leaks, it'll be a proprietary 9-pin design about the same size as micro-USB, but Europeans will need an adaptor, same as before. The good thing is thing is that it's supposed to be dual-oriented, so you won't have to worry about plugging it in upside down.
