mms on iphone 2g with 3.1.2 firmware

hey everybody. I've been trying to find a way to use mms on my iphone 2g. i just updated it to 3.1.2 and jailbroke it with blackra1n. I know that swirly mms is on cydia, but i'd rather not have to pay to use it. i've tried a hack that involved moded carrier setting, but that just bricked my phone.

anybody know what i can do?

you didn't brick your phone. bricking means you can never use it again

If you have the original iPhone from 2007, you will not be able to officially use MMS according to Apple. You took the risk to jailbreak it, so now you have to suffer the consequences. However, setting the phone in DFU mode to restore it shouldn't be an issue. This link may still be valid for getting the phone restore via DFU mode.
