Lighting earpods

Am I just crazy but do these new lighting EarPods actually sound alot better than the old ones?

From what I've seen in reviews, where they have tested the earpods actual sound quality, the sound quality is the same between the "old" earpods, with a headphone jack, and the new earpods, that plug into a lightning port.

They are the same as the old wired buds. I have yet to try out some AirPods; that would be something that certainly has a different sound.

I have not noticed any difference in voice calls. I have not used them for music.
