ipod touch 4g won't reset

I was so impatient with my ipod since it lags when I did ugraded to ios 5. I jailbreak it using redsnow. I was trying to reset all settings and then it just freezes in the apple logo and the progress bar. what should I do? Help.

Try holding down the power button and home button for about 20 seconds and see if that does anything.
