iPhone notifications clear without opening them in my car

When I am connected to my cars Bluetooth and I receive a text message the notification clears without me opening it. This is very annoying because I don’t open the text when I am driving. Then when I park I often forget that the message came through and there is no notification to remind me. This is new since updating to iOS 13.

It will be there when you unlock and swipe down from the status bar.
I’m not sure if this is a feature or a bug.

If it’s intended as such, you are right.
I don’t really look at notifications when my phone is locked though. I do whatever I have to do and then swipe down from time to time to check for notifs.

Are you using bluetooth only or are you using CarPlay?

Bluetooth only. My car doesn’t have apple CarPlay (to my knowledge). Also does it if i am plugged in through the auxiliary usb
