i downloaded my m4r filles from itunes to my iphone but they show up in music but not in tunes

how do I send my files to ringtones

In iTunes Library, highlight the item - then control-click or right-click, bring up the menu - select "get info"... then go to options... see if "media kind" says ringtone or something else...
