I am upgrading to a different iPhone. Will everything transfer over?

Will everything transfer over to a newer device if I have not plugged my phone into a desktop and everything is uploaded on my icloud? I want to make sure all my contacts, pictures, iTunes etc will transfer before I get a new device.

For best results... connect the old phone to your computer with your iTunes library on it... sync and back up the phone to the computer/iTunes... then connect the new phone, and restore the back up and sync to iTunes.

if you are unable to use a computer, iCloud should work fine for back up. I use it.
