How to stop wallpaper animation

Ok so I went out yesterday and bought myself a new XR, upgraded from my 6s.

A bit of changes for sure, with the whole face ID, etc to swiping up to get to the home screen and swipe up to close an app. So here's my beef. When you have an app open and you swipe up to close it out, the wallpaper in the background zooms in and then back out once the app closes. This wallpaper zoom in/animation of the wallpaper is annoying.

I've tried using standard photos as my wallpaper, to the pre-loaded ones, and tried the "still" and "perspective" options when choosing a wallpaper. Nothing seems to help.

Is there anyway to turn this zoom feature off?

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and enable Reduce Motion.
This will reduce all kind of animations happening on the device.

I keep reduced motion on and have for ever. I feel like iOS is snappier that way.
