How do I get the lock screen to minimize to normal?

Iphone 5s is locked. Screen resolution is huge, can't input code because the circled numbers are too far apart, Touch pad for finger doesn't work when you turn on phone from off condition without first using number code on screen. phone assumes a number when you try to move to hit the code numbers, and trying to pinch the screen to make it smaller hits numbers incorrectly. How do I get the touchscreen back to normal?
