how can I make my phone ring and not just vibrate

Looking at settings Vibrate is default, how do I change that?

What phone?
Have you checked the volume switch?
If it's an iPhone, do you have "Do Not Disturb" enable?
Is the Mute switch on?

Are you just trying to turn the ringer on? As in its vibrating but you can't hear it?

There's a switch on the top left of the phone (when looking at the screen). Flip that and it should ring. Make sure the volume is up, which you can do with the other buttons on that side.
