The article states, “…Google is looking to make the internet even more secure for its users by phasing out third-party cookies for those who don’t want everything they do tracked by websites.”

The last three words are “tracked by websites”. The names “Google” and “Alphabet” are not mentioned anywhere in the sentence.

It’s more than just third-party cookies.

It’s part of their Privacy Sandbox initiative that includes stuff like removing third-party cookie support, and the Topics API (aka browser revealing what kind of sites you’re visiting API)
