Grabbed one from Sydney Apple Store today #LoveIT

I was working near the Apple Store and noticed quite a few people inside, I didn’t realise they were in store today, so I grabbed a space grey 256GB WIFI+Cell. They had sold out of the Smart Keyboard cover, but JB HIFI in World Square had a few in stock.

Got it home, downloaded the iOS11 Beta restore image, upgrade then used the wireless transfer feature to migrate from my old 9.7” Pro (that I’m going to sell shortly). I have a work issued 12.9” Pro also, but I honestly don’t think it will be used very much anymore.

Here are my initial thoughts:

ProMotion isn’t a gimic, love it
Screen looks brighter than both 9.7” and 12.9” Generation 1 Pro’s
Size is just fine for side by side apps
Needs iOS11 to make sense
Keyboard is just that little bit bigger, and properly useable for touch typing, it really helps quite a bit
Speed improvement is noticeable, this thing is fast
I love the pencil on this one, it was great with the old one, but far better
Camera is amazing (surprised)
Backup over USB3 was noticeably faster (as it should be), so a great step forward
12.9” iPad Pro will still get use for content creation, but it was always too large to be a tablet (I tried)

That's awesome! I have the 12.9 gen 1 and going to the 10.5 since the 12.9 is awesome but can be cumbersome for me.

I don't know about going from 12.9 to a 10.5. That's almost 2.5". I might just grab another 12.9 and sell my old 12.9.
