FaceTime - Can a 3rd party be viewing without your knowledge

I was Facetiming with a friend, me on my iPhone7, he on his MAC, we got disconnected and immediately, I received a Facetime from a number I didnt know. I answered and there was nothing.. I checked and supposedly the # is a landline.. What could this be?

My question is more about could my friend have had others listening to our conversation on his MAC. Just seems odd that the moment we get disconnected a FaceTime call appears from a number I dont know

Someone probably Facetimed the wrong number.
