duplicate calendars and contacts after sync

I have been using my iphone for at least a year, with outlook and mobile me on a laptop and pc. After recent sync with lap top, I ended up with separate contacts on my iphone "from my pc", and "from mobile me". Same with calendars. I don't need or want these separate lists and I would like to get rid of them. Thank you for any and all suggestions.
