Here's a polite and final response from me.
Sure random person on the internet is not just posting about what all major publications and news were reporting, but apparently I orchestrated it.
I never said you orchestrated, but it is misinformation to say that it is a "Microsoft outage".
If you know that it is not caused by Microsoft, then you can't continue stating that it's a "Microsoft outage" unless your intention is to misinform people.
Here's the definition of misinformation.
Wow CBC and city news, yup those are the big players in media. Billions of people read them.
With 21% market share and the #1 position according to
Statista, I wouldn't qualify CBC as being a minor player - they're actually the only one in that report with nationwide coverage. CNN is 3rd at 15% and BBC is at 12% in 5th according to that same report. And be mindful that most of the outlets in the report don't even serve the region I reside in. (And yes, I take issue with Statista's numbers because they seem to be very Toronto-focused, but I can't find numbers more specific to my market).
CityNews is definitely a smaller player; they are relatively new, opening their office in my region in the early 2010s. And I have never heard of The Express until today, so I guess they're a very small player as well outside the United Kingdom; I even had to test their website with Facebook to make sure they're legit - it's forbidden to post news on Meta's platforms.
What I did is I used the sources for which I can get the
1st reporting title.
Obviously, I don't subscribe to any of the outlets you provided, because they actually don't serve the market I'm in. Thus making them pretty much irrelevant to my own life as a Canadian resident. So I can't even retrieve that information using that criteria (1st reporting title). Side note, the two articles I provided don't have those titles anymore; they were amended as the situation developed - which is the correct approach; same situation at the BBC and, from what I could find, at The Express.

Interestingly since this affected over a billion windows PCs and as Ed clearly stated crowdstrike is an enterprise level software not used by consumers
8.5 million computers, according to an estimate provided by Microsoft on Saturday.
It’s the first time that a number has been put on the glitch that is still causing problems around the world.

Ed you seem to be taking this way to personally.

the professional in the ick field, that gets bothered and bent out of shape by mainstream headlines.
And this is the part of the post where I advocate for myself.
You make it really difficult to not take it personal.
I feel like your posts are written with in an extremely agressive and rude tone, with the intent to laugh into one's face, most (over 75%) of the time. It makes it extremely difficult to make it stay calm and collected. The number of times I rewrote my posts to remove the more rude portions really shows for itself.
And I will never excuse myself for speaking up and trying to correct misinformation - especially on an ICT-focused forum for a situation that occurred in the ICT field. And, just in case you didn't know, ICT stands for
Information and Communications Technologies.
