Last night at Christmas dinner I received a text. It's suppose to be the Twitter whistle sound but it just made a crackle noise.
Powered off the device a few times to see if it would help, it didn't. When locking or waking up the device I could hear that sound ok but everything else sucked. Tried to play music, it was horrible & distorted sounding. The alarm was just as bad.
Made appt at Genius Bar today, he played a song & heard the speaker. Took it in the back to check for water damage, there was none. He told me he could order a new speaker and put it in a few days from now or give me a new i5. Shortly after he brought me out a new device.
I'm not sure if the speakers on the i5 are failing often or if I just had a bad one. But just wanted to post to let everyone know the speaker on my i5 busted/broke. Cheers.
