Broken iPhone charge socket

Hope the pic works

This is my dads iPhone 4S as u may see the charge socket at the bottom seams to have burnt out he thinks that the charger may have been damp as he plugged it in the other day and now it won't charge or connect to the computer.
So is this part easy to replace if so where's the best place to get a spear part or could this be the end of the phone.

Also, since there appears to be a burn on the dock connector, the problems may go deeper than the just replacing the dock connector. You may have fried parts internally, as well. The extra damage could mean that even after you replace the actual dock connector, it may still be non-functional.
