Hello everyone

I have a question about BAD ESN iPhone and i hope that you can help me

If I buy iPhone 5s with BAD ESN status but iCloud unlocked? and used outside USA, is it will work?
i mean is is possible to accept the new carrier if i put another SIM card outside USA, in Europe or Middle East?

Best Regards,

If it was a 5S used on Verizon - it should be fine to use outside the US with another provider's GSM sim.

Only CDMA phones come with an ESN #. If the carrier is Sprint, you're out of luck.

Yeah, Sprint CDMA iPhones are GSM locked... Verizon iPhone5 & 5S are not... the 4S can be unlocked by Verizon, and allegedly by 3rd party unlockers - caveat emptor on those.

Thank you guys for your reply.

What about bad IMEI, will work outside US, or it is the same scenario?

It depends on the carrier and if its unlocked or not. It won't be able to work on the original carrier that it's from.

So, you say the iPhone if unlocked but has bad IMEI there is a big chance to work with a foreign mobile network?

I usually get one of those vanilla visa cards if I have to use one of those 3rd party guys. Costs $5 on top of the actual price, but the upshot is, they don't have my actual CC#, and really, no access to more money. Worth the $5 if you ask me.
