I've been a fairly long time Android user. Droid charge, Galaxy S4, Galaxy s6, Galaxy s9 plus

However now I've decided to move to the other side. I've pre-ordered an iPhone 12 pro, 256 storage

I downloaded a program called "redacted"
Should I use that to move from my s9 to my iPhone 12 pro? Or is there anything else that I should do?

Welcome to iMore! I’ve never actually used any of those apps. I try to use cross platform services myself. However, when you set up your iPhone there should be an option for moving from Android as well. I’ll check out that app on my Android and see if there’s anything I should mention.

Welcome to iMore.

In more opinion, setup the device from new and manually configure each app, as needed.
To me, this will give you an opportunity to learn iOS (if you have not used it before).

PS: Do you have lots of photos in Google Photos? A suggestion would be to install the Google Photos app, and allowing your iOS device to keep a copy in iCloud, BUT, also place a copy in Google Photos...

I just jumped into an iPhone Pro 12Max. My family are all iPhone users so after ten years over on android I decided to try it out.
Notifications ok they suck on IOS. However everything else has been pretty darn smooth. And I’m enjoying the camera. Also I really like not having all the bloated apps from the carrier. As far as not being able to customize my Home Screen I can handle that I man I can but only to a point. I’m rather surprised that I am enjoying it more than I thought I would.

I too have switched to IOS from Android. Mostly a Samsung user, although i had tried Nexus & Pixel phones. I'm glad that i made the switch, however i do have two complaints. One..I have to say it. iCal sucks, big time. I don't want to go back to anything Google, so i'm looking for a good calendar app that i can add to my iPhone, and my Mac. Two..Nobody laugh please, but i miss the flashing notification light when an email or text msg comes to the phone(a holdover from my Blackberry days). Aside from those two points, it's all good for me.:p

yeah, so many people are switching from android to iphone and we all know perfectly why))

iPhones are defiantly taking over around the world.

Samsung seems to be sinking rapidly; loss of marketshare, declining sales, loss of operating profit, and longtime users and shills abandoning Samsung for iPhones.

After apple has launched Apple Pay in Korea this year and opened up two new stores, apple is dominating the 18-39 demographic and started to break into the 40-49 age group marketshare. Once the Samsung shills start reporting this you know it’s all over for Samsung.

iPhone 15 and 15 pro series is going to break Samsung in Korea come September.

I came from Android to the 7S+ when it launched. Once I got everything away from Google Drive / Dropbox to iCloud, everything was fine. While there was a learning curve, it wasn’t a steep one.
