Downgrade questions for iPhone 3Gs old bootrom without shsh

Was thinking of Downgrading from 4.3.5 to 4.3.3 but I don't have 4.3.3 shsh saved in tinyumbrella. From what I read that an iPhone 3GS on an old bootrom could be downgraded just by putting it in DFU mode and holding down shift when clicking restore in iTunes and selecting the 4.3.3 firmware. Is this true?
