Where does iTunes save photos on a PC?

I obtained a warranty replace iPad and was advised to set up as a new device. Before replacement I backed up and sync'd my old iPad. I'd like to reinstall some photos that I had saved as wallpaper. Where does iTunes save those photos?

iTunes doesn't save them separately. If they were in your camera roll, they're simply in your iPad backup - there's no way to extract individual items. If you want them back, you'll have to restore to that backup.
