Do you need internet access to complete the iTunes sync or is this something I can do on the train home tonight?

I don't have it yet, so no. Picking it up at 3PM and then racing to the train. They activate it in the store I assume, correct?

They can if you choose. After activation you can do threat on the computer as long as everything is up to date. Do you have the latest iTunes on your computer?
