I'm sure most of you already use this but I only discovered this app the other week and it's fantastic!

Can't believe what a good job it does! I'm sure it's also down to the new focus on the iphone 6 camera but regardless I love it! I scan all my receipts not to use as a return as I'm not sure they would accept but so that if I'm out and want to know the model number of the item Id bought previously I can open up the receipt and see exactly and also know how long ago I purchased it and so on. I even use it to scan takeaway menus haha I can then order food whilst I'm on my way home or round a mates who doesn't have a menu. Lots of uses but just wanted to share with you lot.

Yep, it's been discussed here in several threads.

With that in mind, I am a HUGE fan of the Scannable App. I use it almost daily. EVERY receipt I get, I scan it with the Scannable app and then send it to my Receipts folder in Evernote. It's become second nature to me....:)

Haha yeah I kinda do the same except I save it to my receipts folder in Google drive. The integration is fantastic isn't it? Love how simple and easy it is to save and export or email direct.

I mostly scan to pdf as I'm usually scanning docs but I've even used it to scan an item instead of taking a photo of it as it removes the background so if I'm sending a photo of something to someone it just makes it clearer.

Yeah, I altered the app's settings to save my scans as .pdf files by default. I mean seriously, all you have to do is initiate the app, and let it take a photo of the receipt or whatever it is you're copying and it does the rest. The app even removed my thumb a few times when I was holding a receipt I was copying. How cool is that?

Haha did it!? That's brilliant! I don't know why some of the other similar scanner apps are so much higher up the chart than this when they are nowhere near as good! Best thing with this is not only does it remove the background from your document but it auto adjusts the page size whereas other apps you have to fiddle setting the borders of the page and all that!

The only downside and this isn't the app is that if you use the app indoors with the lights on your struggle to avoid shadows of the phone and hand hovering over the page haha. If it removes your thumb it might be better that I hold it up against a contrasting coloured wall to avoid the light from above casting a shadow.

I'm surprised Apple haven't jumped on the bandwagon and produced an app or added this feature to their iOS. It would be a massive feature if it was added to the native camera app as another camera mode you can select.
