Imessage, why are the camera and app icon not working?

I have an iphone 7 only 1 month old not jailbroken and updates to 11.1
All of a sudden the camera and app icons will not work, I can see them but nothing happens when i push one of them. I have reset the phone to factory settings and hard shutdown. Can anyone help?

Hello taycole1, welcome to iMore!

If you've factory reset and performed hard resets and you are still having this issue, I would recommend making an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store. As long as you do it relatively soon. Perform an iCloud backup before you go in because they'll more than likely reset the phone again. If they have to give you a brand new 7 you'll be able to restore from your backup right there at the store.

Check that you have MMS Messaging turned on (in Settings>Messages)
