I signed a contract with Verizon for the 6s, but then bought out the phone. I would like to sell the iPhone now, since I'm going with a different phone. Do I need to remove a SIM card? Since I bought the phone outright (paid it off), is it unlocked? Is there anything I need to be concerned about before selling privately? Thanks!

All Verizon phones are unlocked. I would remove the sim card, yes. You should also turn off "find my iPhone" in iCloud settings if you turned it on before you reset the device ( settings / general / reset / erase all content and settings.)

turn off find my iphone and log out of your icloud account on the phone. I have sold many iphones over the years and this should eliminate any problems.

If your new phone will NOT be Apple/iPhone, make sure you remove you phone number from and disable iMessage. Will hopefully eliminate any problems you'll face with not receiving texts on your new phone.
