How can I pull up the key pad so I can enter menu options when I am using an automated menu?

I am using an iphone 5C. When I make a phone call to an institution and they say I can dial a person's extension if I know it, or I have to press a menu option, how do I pull up the key pad so I can make this entry? I don't know how to get to the key pad!

There should be a circle on your screen that says keypad, press that and the keypad will appear.
