How to activate the iPhone 5 ?

this is the first time I pre-order so I'm wondering how the activation process works, I ordered thru AT&T, does the phone come with a sim card ready to be activated?? activate at AT&T store or calling 611 ??
I remembered the chaos in 2010 or 2011 when a bunch of people could not activate the AT&T iphones because of AT&T network was so overloaded.

SIMs are included... I reckon it's a matter of following the directions supplied with the phone - it's like that on Verizon where it amounts to calling a toll free number, acknowledging you accept terms and conditions of a new contract - then they automated system activates the SIM & phone's IEMI/MEID on your line, then you're good to go.

Just got my iphone and everything was done on the phone, pretty cool. Still have to call at&t though
