Restore iphone4

Ever since I have downloaded 4.1 my proximity sensor is for crap, and the orientation sensor is ultra buggy. I set it down without changing orientation and it goes landscape on me. I tilt it the slightest degree and it changes orientation. This *never* happened before 4.1. I think I want to restore and see I'd that will help. Do you think it will help? If I restore will it go back to 4.01 or will it go back to 4.1? Is restoring easy?

It will go back to 4.1. Set it up as a new phone, see if that solves the issue
