Backing up from old backup, but its my old #...help?

I want to go back from about 2 weeks ago and backup from that sync because I deleted some very important text messages. They were stored in that backup, but the next day I changed my number...

So this old backup has my old number...but will that matter?

the number isn't stored in the backup. it's tied to the sim card.

Thanks I backed it up and it recognized my new number without a problem.

glad you already figured it out but even if it did display your old number the phone would still work. I had that happen when I changed my number, in iTunes for about a month it still displayed my old number and then I upgraded to the new firmware and bam the new number was showing. The phone still worked like a charm the whole time.

Is there any app available to back up my sms into pc. My inbox is full now and do not want to delete some texts from my phone. Those are very important. Thanks in advance.
