Email to Safari and back??

Is it possible to follow a link in email, browse the webpage then go BACK to where you were in email? In other words is there a BACK function like all the browsers?

Safari functions just like the desktop. Back,forward, refresh, stop buttons. Even tabs. Email and Safari are different apps but if you go to a link in an email and then quit Safari and go back to email it will open up in the email you were reading.
