wtf...trying to update to 3.0

my itunes says 2.2.1 is still the up to date software......im on itunes 8.2 and tried checking for the update countless times....reinstalled it twice....can anyone help

yes...iphone 1st gen unlocked running 2.2.1......don't know why itunes wont discover the 3.0 software....fixing to use redsnow but can't since i cant even restore to 3.0

i downgraded to 2.0 and now it says that its the up to date firmware...what the heck is going on....im not computer or iphone illiterate but this is rediculous

First , and I know that this seem to be the fix-all, I would do a restore then try to upgrade. But befor that make sire you have rhe latest iTunes also. I believe it's at 8.2 right now.

i already have itunes 8.2 downloaded it twice..... i went back to older firmware to see if that would make it recognize the new firmware but it didn't.....it seems like my itunes just don't want to find the update
