Newbie with questions

How can I create home page shortcuts from my bank,visa etc.? Also free apps are not free. Trying to put a Google icon on my home page.
BTW: This is very different from my windows 7 laptop.

To add a shortcut. Go to the website, then hit the little arrow up at the bottom. Bit add to home screen. And as far as free apps, some are free but the trend seems to be in app purchases to really make use of the app. But. Many go on sale or go free for a short time. Get apps hopper app
