Why do deleted e mails keep coming back

I keep using Edit and Delete all on my apple I pad. They do disappear until the next time I log in and they are back. Hundreds of them!

I don't know. Try logging in to your email account via a web browser to delete the email messages as well as review the settings/options that could be causing the problem.
