How do i create a custom template or import one to word on new iPad Pro 11”

I am trying to create a custom template or import one to my ipad to use for word. I cannot for the life of me figure out how on this ipad. Plus I’m new to iPads as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you email the template to yourself and then open it up on your iPad? I assume you have Word installed on it.

Yes i have word.
Yea but I’d like for it to be a temporary template. The fix I’m doing right now is pinning it in my recents and not allowing to auto save. Then i just save a copy and keep changes in copy. It works but wish I didn’t have to do extra steps.
